Dolphins-Texans Trade Pair of Key Players

The Miami Dolphins and the Houston Texans have been rumored around the league to make some major trade news this offseason. Of course, most people are waiting for the Texans to trade Deshaun Watson. The Miami Dolphins fans are waiting to know the fate of Tua. Today’s trade news was not the fireworks between the Dolphins and Texans as many expected.

In fact, today’s trade feels like a lateral move. The Dolphins give up Shaq Lawson, who helped shape the stellar Dolphins defense in 2020. In exchange, the Dolphins received a Pro Bowl LB in Bernardrick McKinney. This feels like a lateral move that frees up some cap space.

McKinney is fresh off a shoulder surgery, but if he is able to get back to his 2018 production, the Dolphins are getting a beast of an athlete.

This move also makes it pretty clear that the Dolphins will be actively after an edge rusher in free agency.
