Arians Uses Brass for Shot at Sterling Silver
Brass knuckles are used in street fighting to severely induce pain on an opponent. They are a weapon that stuns the opponent upon impact. On Sunday, we saw LeFleur settle for a FG late in the game leading to their MVP quarterback, Aaron Rodgers never seeing the football again, at home, in the NFC Championship. We saw the Bills drive early in their game and settle for FG after FG, ultimately losing to the reigning Super Bowl MVP and Super Bowl Champions.
Not Bruce Arians. Arians pulled out his own shiny brass set of “knuckles” on 4th and 3 at the end of the first half en-route to their first NFC Championship since 2003. He made the decision to keep the offense out on the field, knowing they would receive the second half kick-off. They converted the 4th and 3 and with only six seconds on the clock, Arians called Brady’s number again to deliver a deep pass down the left sideline hitting Scotty Miller for a half-ending TD. This stunned LeFleur, Rodgers, and the Packers and they were never able to fully recover from that brass knuckle punch right to the mouth.
I don’t think LeFleur was playing to lose, but I do know that Bruce Arians and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a shot at the Sterling Silver Lombardi Trophy because he’s not afraid to use a little Brass along the way.
